Adventure 2 // Atlanta, GA

Length of stay: Two Night Accommodations: Airbnb Atlanta has always been a lunch or dinner stop on the way to Florida. When we lived in NYC, we usually timed our drive down to South Florida, with at least one vegan stop for me along the way. Atlanta has always come through for food, and then we were off. Since living in Nashville, we do the same exact thing. Lunch, and then bounce. Every time we say, “hey, we should really explore Atlanta”, and finally we did. We planned our Atlanta trip around Market for my kid’s shop. We decided to

We decided to move to Florida

I’ll give you the long and the short of it. I guess it depends how curious you are; if you’ll read it all. In short, it’s true, and something I said I would never, ever do. I insisted it’s a horrid place to raise a family and that a place with no seasons, has no soul. We are moving south of the south, to Boca Raton, Fl. It wasn’t even a long discussion for us to land on “Yes, let’s move to Florida for a while”. I honestly think we are exhausted by winter. Nashville has been nice. We have met

A Paint Project a Month

We had a really good time using paint to transform our home, from our bathroom to our bedroom, living room, and, now, dining room. We are almost ready to sell this baby. We got inspired by a local artist’s piece of work we acquired, and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to add a little bit of color to our otherwise high-contrast and neutral home. We started off with a few different looks in our dining room. We had a gallery wall at one point against a white wall, and then a curio case. When we decided to paint,

If you feel like shopping, a good place to start is The Paris Market. It's smaller than I thought it would be, but has a really well curated selection of gifts, and even a tiny cafe. Don't forget to pop downstairs, there are even more home goods. The whole strip is walkable and cute.

Adventure 1 // Savannah, GA

Length of stay: Two Night Accommodations: The Brice Travel Time: via Nashville 7 hours 10 minutes Have you ever wanted to go someplace but were so scared the expectation wouldn’t quite line up with the reality of being there? I have put off a Savannah trip for so many years. Maybe like, 20 years. When I was about 16, I was addicted to road trips. I would drive anywhere and everywhere for a good show. From sweaty punk rock basement venues, to living rooms, to huge festivals – I was there, no matter the distance. Something in me loves the control

Our Top 30 Must-Have at the Land of Nod Sale

I am a HUGE fan of kids stuff. Well, kids, baby, and tween. So much so, when we moved to Nashville, I opened a kids shop, and then another, and we are off venturing in various states as we pick our third location.  It’s basically the most fun I have had working besides designing kid’s rooms. I LOVE designing homes for clients, there is something so magical about environments for little people. Every nook counts. Every material choice needs to be a positive sensory experience, and everything must be placed at the right level for little hands to reach. It’s a

Some Obvious Changes

This is no longer a home blog. I know. I get it. The truth is that we haven’t been nearly as in love with this house as our last house, and we have plans to move. Back to New York. Eventually. We have a detour that wasn’t planned until just about a week ago and we are getting our ducks in a row. The detour is pretty exciting and unexpected, but we don’t want to share anything until we have some solid plans in place. However, when we land back in NYC, it will be into an apartment or a

Bathroom Bright UP

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware For this installment of our home transformation with Ace, we will be focusing on our guest bathroom.  Our guest bathroom has gone through a lot since we moved here a little over two years ago. That wallpaper in the mood board below makes me smile every time I go in there. I am surprisingly not sick of it, but what I was getting irritated at was the faux wood sink stand. After making everything so light and bright, it just looked so heavy. If you remember, we made this mood board, where we

Perfectly Pink and Neutral

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. As much as we are loving our new high-contrast living room, we thought we’d do something a little more low-key for our master bedroom. We decided to “mellow out” the black barn door hardware with something soft rather than stark. Two cans of Rust-Oleum 2X paint and primer later, we had a nice soft color relationship starting. We are still waiting on our window hardware and have to swap out the bed, but we are pretty close.

What a Difference

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. We just finished painting all the trim in the living room. Wow. What a difference. It feels totally new in there, and way more high-end. Our goal has been reached! High contrast, but not too trendy, and not too overwhelming. We partnered up with Ace for the next few months to show you how paint can really transform a space or in your home through examples in our home. Follow me on my journey as I show you different paints that can help you create your

Our Bedroom, the Dump Zone, No More

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. We have avoided sharing our bedroom for so long because, well, it’s been unimpressive. The beige walls, our huge king bed taking up most of the space, the complete design neglect; all not worth sharing. As part of our ongoing home transformation with paint with Ace Hardware (which will last through September), we made two big decisions. Decision One: We are going to finally address the bedroom and get rid of that depressing color that’s somewhere between
