Let’s Drink // 1

This post is sponsored by Gold Peak Tea. Summer is here, and I can feel it in my pores. Nashville has this crazy kind of heat that is a lot like summer in Manhattan. It’s like a bubble of humidity you can’t shake and attaches to you the instant you walk outside. Basically anything you can do to keep from moving too much outside is something we are game for. It’s the time of year where we are so grateful we have a porch and some great friends. Because chit chatting over some iced tea is about the only kind

Let's Eat / 10

You guys are so so so sweet. Thanks for all the well wishing with our new adventures. If you follow along on instagram, we have been sharing peeks of progress with the shop on our Rich Hippies account, and will be sharing the “Project House” progress on Making a House a Home‘s account. Today we are chatting food for fall. I rounded up a hefty handful of vegetarian soups and chowders that look insanely delicious, and we personally will be trying each and every one of them this chilly season. I actually have some artichoke lemon soup in the crockpot

Let's Eat / 9

Are you ready for tiniest tailgate treat ever? We teamed up with Hebrew National to create some original recipes, and while working on a failed idea, I figured out how to make the smallest, cutest, most mouth-popping hot dog you ever did see. It’s super simple, and pretty fun. First pop over to our pretzel bun recipe to make the dough for these little guys. Instead of shaping the dough into buns, you are going to make small flat sheets and cut them into square bug enough to wrap around the tiny dog.   So, how did we get them so

Let's Eat / 8

Hey friends! We have another yummy recipe to share with you, and this one is quick and  a hit. These taste like a battered and friend sweet and savory guilty pleasure, and they are – but these treats happen to be baked, so it’s not that bad. At least that’s what I tell myself. It’s a one bowl + one deep non-stick pan type of meal that’s quick and painless. One dog is good for one person because the batter is pretty filling but it also works well as an appetizer if you have cute toothpicks and a hungry crowd.

If you have never had a hot dog with a pretzel bun, stop what you are doing and run to the market right now if you don’t have the ingredients on hand (you most likely do!), and make this for dinner tonight. If you have had a pretzel hot dog bun, you are welcome for this super easy (pretty much no-fail) recipe. Let me state up front, I am no baker! I just started lightly dabbling in this wonderful world because we happened to find the most incredible, juiciest, delicious peaches at our local farmer’s market in East Nashville, they

Vegetarian Friendly Food Round Up // Gatherings

‘Tis the season for gatherings outdoors. BBQ’s, pool parties, derby fun – and awkward non-vegetarian friendly moments. If one more person grills me a vegetable, hands me a bowl of vegetarian chili or insists marshmallow’s are vegetarian, I may just break down and cry. Amazing intentions. I love love love that we get to share amazing weather and company with friends through the spring and summer, but I panic every time an eight hour event is ahead of us and I have to plan out my meals before/after (while Joey happily munches on burgers), and politely decline 90% of the

Six trips in eight months with an infant pt. 1

When you have a child, everyone warns you how much your life is going to change. And it does. Not in the ways they explain it per say, but in ways you couldn’t have planned for or dreamed up. Basically, the day Atlas turned twelve weeks old, we planned a road trip down to Houston for a sip n’ see my mother-in-law wanted to host for us. We thought it was smart to get him use to travel as soon as we can, so we did what we figured would be the most complicated thing, a 3,200 mile road trip
