Color Hunting

Hello! How has the week been treating you? We have about 20 projects in motion at the same time. We are taking advantage of this above freezing winter as best we can. Lots of time has been dedicated to painting, and picking paint colors….Not only has it been hectic in our own house, but you can read all about the big ‘ol Lake House project I am working on with Emily Henderson right here. Emily just picked out the perfect paint pallet for the upstairs of this amazing Lake House and it got me thinking, how does one pick a

Little (Creepy) Boy: Finds a Home!

Remember our creepy little boy we adopted? Welp, we cleaned him up and found him a great place to live! A few months back we “adopted” him at the amazing flea market, Elephants Trunk. Joey made a decision (with out me!) to use the left over spray chalkboard paint we used on the fridge to give the frame a facelift. Lucky for Joey, I really like the results. It seemed last time we brought creepy boy up, in regards to where he should live, you guys had a lot to say! We really loved the guest bathroom idea, so

The Tree is Done!

I am so  so so over the moon excited, happy, and overjoyed (they all mean the same thing, eh?) that the amazing mural Duane has been working on is, in fact, complete. It’s the most amazing tree I have ever seen in my entire life, and the face that it was created by one of the most amazing people I have met in my life, makes it beyond special. The Tree of Life, over at Disney use to be my favorite tree ever. That was until Joey broke my heart and told me it was a fake tree. Kinda like

Finished Stencil + Giveaway Time!

****give away is closed. winner is picked. thank you for chekcing out Cutting Edge Stencils!**** Happy Friday lovelies! We are super excited to report the wall is looking quite fab, and makes us smile every time we look at it! We know it’s a little bold and modern, but it just works so well in our otherwise boring (at the moment!) master bedroom. A few of you asked about the paint decisions, and here is what we got to share.  We did the stenciling in a semi-gloss and the other three walls we are going to do in an eggshell.

Pondering Paint

Our bedroom is a putty color right now. It came that way. We like it just fine. After finishing up the bed, we got a bit of the “finish the bedroom bug”. Hence, we are naturally starting with the walls. Instead of “just fine” walls, we want walls we love. We have a few ideas in mind, we expressed here.  We started prepping the far wall from the bed to stencil. We tested a few colors. Take a peek. The colors we picked seemed too blue, or too white. So back to the drawing board. This time we found something

Fireplace Facelift: A (semi) Quicky Blog Squad Project

Good morning, friends! We have a few fireplaces in our home. Well, more like four. Ok, wait, three. See, the one is the basement is for “show”. Kinda weird, right? A faux basement fireplace….wonder what they were thinking when that happened. So the three real fireplace are in the living room, master bedroom, and my office. We were very excited about all the fire places when we moved in. We actively use the one in the master suite, and the one in the living room. We have plans for the living room one, kinda massive plans, but the rest will
