The First Thing To Break at The Rich Hippies House

Sometimes the perfect partner comes along at the perfect time and this was one of those times. Grateful to work with One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® on this problem and provide you with all with our honest thoughts and opinions on our experience. We have had our first “emergency” at The Rich Hippies House. While the cleaning crew was in the upstairs duplex they noticed a guest had the AC unit on 61 degrees, and the AC was leaking into the downstairs duplex closet. We had guests coming the very next day and had to rush to solve the problem.

The Rich Hippies House Lower Duplex Before and After

Hi friends! Did you have a chance to check out the intense studio before and after? Today we are sharing the bottom “sea level” duplex before and after. Take a look at where we started back in October 2017.   Before we had this welcoming entry, things were looking a bit grim at the downstairs duplex, and maybe even worse inside. To be fully transparent, this photo above was taken after Hurricane Irma. We lost our avocado tree by the fountain, and had a ton (no exaggeration) of debris to deal with. That wasn’t the hard part. The pavers were.

The Rich Hippies House Studio Before and After

The studio is where we tend to spend most of our time when we are at The Rich Hippies House. We have had family slumber parties, movie play dates, gatherings, and dinners in this nook of the property on repeat since it was close to finished, it just has a “let’s gather” vibe. Before the feelings of wanting to be there was as strong as they are, this studio went through what looked like the seventh circle of hell. I kid you not. Sorry for the poltergeist level grain on these photos, but that’s all that was available. We did

An Update on Life

Follow my blog with Bloglovin If you have been following along on instagram and here, you have seen peeks of the massive project we have been working on this year, The Rich Hippies House. When we purchased her, she was in pretty bad shape and then just a few days after closing, a hurricane hit and trashed the yard. We lost a few fences, plants, and trees broke. It made the clearing out process pretty annoying, but at the same time we were very grateful that’s all the damage we encountered. We haven’t shared too much because the timeline has

Spanish Style + Palm Beach Style Peek at our First Room

As I am typing, I am somewhere in the Appellation Mountains after spending one night in Georgia and four nights in Nashville to escape Hurricane Irma. We are heading to Asheville for a few nights to wait to see when power is going to be restored and road conditions will be safe for driving. I can not believe what a monster this storm was. I am simply heartbroken for everyone who has to deal with the aftermath and fearful for the rest of the season. This is the number one thing I do not like about living in Florida, these

She’s still standing!

No sooner did the I schedule the post below, with keys in our hand Thursday, we were then evacuating from Hurricane Irma the following Wednesday. We got a small report of no power, lots of tree damage, but the house looks like it’s in overall good shape and no obvious signs of flooding. Everything in the immediate area is currently closed, and we are unsure when we will be able to return back down to South Florida, but we are hopeful this week could be a possibility.  Last month we got approved on three offers. All at once. It was like

Bathroom Bright UP

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware For this installment of our home transformation with Ace, we will be focusing on our guest bathroom.  Our guest bathroom has gone through a lot since we moved here a little over two years ago. That wallpaper in the mood board below makes me smile every time I go in there. I am surprisingly not sick of it, but what I was getting irritated at was the faux wood sink stand. After making everything so light and bright, it just looked so heavy. If you remember, we made this mood board, where we

What a Difference

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. We just finished painting all the trim in the living room. Wow. What a difference. It feels totally new in there, and way more high-end. Our goal has been reached! High contrast, but not too trendy, and not too overwhelming. We partnered up with Ace for the next few months to show you how paint can really transform a space or in your home through examples in our home. Follow me on my journey as I show you different paints that can help you create your

Our Bedroom, the Dump Zone, No More

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. We have avoided sharing our bedroom for so long because, well, it’s been unimpressive. The beige walls, our huge king bed taking up most of the space, the complete design neglect; all not worth sharing. As part of our ongoing home transformation with paint with Ace Hardware (which will last through September), we made two big decisions. Decision One: We are going to finally address the bedroom and get rid of that depressing color that’s somewhere between

High Contrast, Here We Come

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. Remember when the lottery was over a billion bucks a few months ago? Joey and I were pretty sure we, alone, were going to win it and buy our dream penthouse in New York. I don’t need to Google the address; I have it memorized because I have been so intimate with this building from the moment I moved to New York. A few years back, six luxury penthouses were erected, and the one we have our eye on

And We Got Ourselves a Soul Mate

Consideration was provided by Ace Hardware. All thoughts and opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware. Hello, lovlies. It’s been super duper busy around these parts. Our second Rich Hippie’s shop is opening this month and we just did a little face-lift to the first one, which got us redoing the entire house. We certainly don’t make it easy on ourselves! Sometimes I guess you get in the mood to change things and you just dive in and do it all at once. Even though we are still planning our move back home to New York

Switch Switch

Happy New Year friends! We have no news to share about our move back to NYC and it’s making us stir crazy! We can’t help but do small things here and there around the house until we head back. In fact we aren’t even 100% sure if we are going to sell both houses yet, so no harm in the beautification progress. If you have been hanging out a while, you know we dressed our house with some high end light switched through the year in Atlas’ bathroom, the living room, and the dining room. The obsession started with the
