Fun Day // 1

It’s been on my to-do list forever it seems, and finally the fair came to New York! This event inspired me to start a new category “Fun Day” . We do a lot of poking around and adventuring, and are often asked about the places we go. We thought it a good idea to share our journeys and inspire you to go have a fun day of your own!

The Country Living Fair! #CLFair

Where: Rhinebeck, NY (also in Atlanta, Ga and Columbus, Oh)

When: Columbus: September 13–15, 2013
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Atlanta: October 25-27, 2013
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Why: It’s a great fresh air day with tons of vendors // food // entertainment

There were A LOT of vendors, but my fave was Cari’s booth. Have you seen her show Cash and Cari? She’s such a sweetheart and I love how she repurposes stuff to look so unique. I can’t wait to visit her Repurpose shop in Westland, MI.

We had a really fun time and Atlas got his sleep just as it was about to rain. A TON of people showed up and we got super sweaty, but it was totally worth it. Rhinebeck wound up being a super cute town, but we only got to explore a tiny little bit. We plan to go back for a day trip. We did scout out a super great lunch spot in Kingston which was fit for my vegetarian diet and Joey’s love of meat. It was actually really fresh and amazing, and I also want to explore Kingston more as well.

country-living-fair-rhinebeckWe didn’t actually buy a lot at the fair. I got some vintage pom pom trim, a hand-carved wooden spoon, and was very close to buying a handmade dress, which I regret not getting now. We are still noodling with the idea of going to the one in Atlanta, just to check out the vendors they would have as opposed to Rhinebeck.

Have you ever been to The Country Living Fair? The Atlanta one? We want to know all about it, is it worth the hike?

My husband is from Rhinebeck and he worked at the fair for years as a teen. We still have the sheepskin that his employers gave him the last year he worked there. We haven’t been to the fair in a couple of years and we really miss it!

I have been to the Columbus one a couple of times. It’s pretty awesome. I plan to go this year as well.

  3. OMG!!! I can’t believe it……in pictures 4 and 5, you have captured my whole family!!! See the gal in green in photo 4…that’s me, Janet of The Empty Nest blog and in photo 5, the greyhaired man in the middle is my brother Bobby, my white haired Mom is to his right and the lady in the white tee shirt is my sister Maddy..this is too funny!!!

We had a great time at the fair and can’t wait for next year.

  4. If this is not done and also the implants fall short to
    incorporate, they could not work the means they are supposed to;
i.e., they might end up being loose however, consequently, over
a duration, could dislodge themselves completely.
Besides, the moment taken to restore blog post implantation perhaps
much longer compared to just what is ideally necessary. A weak immune system might also be taken into consideration an energetic source for pupating infection in the
teeth article surgical procedure. The information, by no means,
means to replace the medical diagnosis and insight given by the oral
professional. Dental implants are just one of the most demanded procedure options for missing out on teeth.

  5. It was billed as a cut-price BMW M3 CSL, but it did not have the flagship’s 110kg
    weight reduction.
