No sooner did the I schedule the post below, with keys in our hand Thursday, we were then evacuating from Hurricane Irma the following Wednesday. We got a small report of no power, lots of tree damage, but the house looks like it’s in overall good shape and no obvious signs of flooding. Everything in the immediate area is currently closed, and we are unsure when we will be able to return back down to South Florida, but we are hopeful this week could be a possibility.
Last month we got approved on three offers. All at once. It was like shoe shopping, but with land and it was beautiful
For the last four months we have been going mad, on the hunt, for anything and everything we could get our hands on. Our big plan of owning this apartment village died, just one week from the closing date and we were devastated. the whole reason we moved to Florida when we did was to start this new business and just like that it was over. Mix that with atlas not getting his needs met academically and medically, and you got yourself two parents feeling pretty shitty about the big decision to move to Boca.
Four months later, things are feeling much MUCH better. Atlas is all set, and we have two huge projects ahead of us. Of the three approved offers, only one closed. Have a peek!
So, what is it and what are we doing with it? I have basically been going over this moment my entire life and I feel super prepared to basically make a mini compound. The two lot property rests beside a huge wall with two gates. One gate opens up to a large plot of land, and the other gate has three buildings: A main house, a duplex, and a large studio.
As you can tell, the place needs a ton or work, and we are itching to dig in and pretty her up. We think she’s a gorgeous Spanish home with all the right curves. She was built in 1925, which puts her real close in age to our 1930 renovation back in New York. Hello old friend, I can’t wait to discover what weird things you have hiding in your walls. Remember that knife in the bathroom vent when we changed the vents on our first home?
This place will not be our home. We are turning it into a luxury short term rental and retreat home with Rich Hippies. Think small events, supper parties, yoga retreats. This is step one of our big plan down here in Florida. We are itching to share the renovation with you!
